There is a new recommendation that children 2 years and younger, should watch no television and those that are older should be limited to no more than 2 hours of television…because there may or may not be a link to aggression. (source below) Modern technology is a wonderful thing if used correctly, but like with the fast food chains, conveniences of peace and quite, plus on the go life, many will not listen to the suggestion.

The issue of the television being the one-eyed babysitter is nothing new to parents. If the grandparents are consulted they will tell you that raising children isn’t what it use to be – it’s a lot tougher. The tough part comes in when children observe behavior, then start to act it out to get a parent to buy or do something. Being a regular observer, this behavior has been seen – everywhere.

Being a parent is not suppose to be easy, and it is not suppose to be convenient, or for the tax breaks. (Which when if you hear some parents talk, they love tax time because of the kick back.) Umph, that‘s just wild, isn‘t? Playing the system before it strikes back is never a good thing, laws change – eventually (and especially since the system is broke) those laws are going to change. (Gambling like Wall Street – future forecasts to bet the now.) Parents have the responsibility to be a provider and educator. Parents should not rely on the education system to provide the free babysitting during the day hours and one-eyed wonder at night. Active involvement for a child is necessary since they learn through observation. They see what is happening and know what will work – till told no, then make a parents life hell. Yikes!

Now, the article of interest does point out that scientists just do not know for sure if television is what triggers aggression in children and that parents have a need to pay attention to their children. (source below)  Why should any parent be reminded of this? Take up the responsibility and see it all the way through because a child/children need parents, not a television.
