The Breet Report

Wow!  The President of the United States just called out the blatant and obvious promotions network television (news or otherwise) have been doing: PROMOTING VIOLENCE and FEAR.

Look – I am not weighing in on the health care reform issue that is going on right now – I kind of think that it has already been decided if it is going to pass or not.  So, moving on …

Our media sucks.  That’s right – sucks. Mainstream only shows and has been showing violence and then putting their take on issues – with a fear line.  Pure and simple.

I have seen too many ads online where a journalist (or two) clearly state, “yes I was fired for doing blah story, but here is my resume.”

Look, too many people are going “I’m afraid,” but they don’t even know exactly what the heck to fear, and trust me it’s a big world out there.  If you think you should fear the government, fear if the government wasn’t there (at least some of them, maybe 1%) to tell big corporations to “find another way to screw the public.”

Oh and if the world had let their big boy or big girl britches fall during WWII, we would all be singing a different tune right about now.

Go on Mr. President.  I didn’t vote for you but I will give you kudos! (Note: Sadly, I did not vote in the last “historical” election.  I figure either way, the people and the environment are still kind of going to take a hit. Too many old timers that like their pockets lined.  Hey, wouldn’t that be the job of a reporter to bring that to light!!! Ha!)
