Money Fight by Frits Ahlefeldt
Money, money, money…where does all the money come from and when? Pinching the public, the citizens, has been a theme (as far as I can tell) for just about nine (plus-ish) years now – eek. Where is the end of the tunnel? When Congress gets the bill passed to help 15 million unemployed people, who are stressed out, pissed off, and have almost nothing left to lose, oh wait, it is not for the total of the people who are unemployed – can we say the citizens will have slightly bruised egos.
Over the years, the citizens of this nation have tried to do the right thing in the way of making sure to get the college education, to save a little money (for a rainy day), sharpen up resume and vocabulary skills, or for that matter do some web-weaving to get in with decent companies. (What a campaign line…that has been used!) What things are boiling down to … is what for? The greed of a dead tree, with pretty paint on it?
The unequivocal greed in Washington has been well documented, especially in recent years, for that pretty dead tree paper. The citizens have spoken up, more than once via voting, marches, or picketing, and still “business as usual” marches. What in the world will extending unemployment benefits do? (Besides belittling the public?) How about taking that money, wherever it is coming from, and apply it to the infrastructure? Why? It would create jobs and get rid of our 100 year old, painted over rust.
This seems like a distraction for the citizens. Promises. Promises. What happens when the benefits run out, again? How many (now) homeless or starving citizens will it take before the right course of action will be taken? The problems have to be addressed logically and not with a temporary band-aid.
(Re-elections are coming up – remember – how many senators and such actually campaign in their neck of the woods? Do they see the destruction of greed that has run across the nation after the “contributions” were accepted? You know, the $800 billion big pharm’s have sunk into “contributions.” Or the $750 billion + to make a trillion for the banks, that bought each other up…the list is endless…and thus continues to be increasing…)
Article of Interest Congress set to clear aid to jobless, homebuyers, by Jim Abrams, Associated Press Writer, November 5, 2009
P.S. Earlier this year a young man actually stated, “this whole ‘cash for clunkers’ program is really stupid. How is it suppose to help? It will just put more people in debt.”
The citizens, at least younger generations, know the “solutions” that have been passed do nothing to stimulate the economy. It really does not take a college educated (who doesn’t seem to be exercising that education) to realize this pumping is just bulging. The future generations will hate cleaning up the mess – hopefully – never to repeat a sell out or sell of America and her citizens.

I must say, sadly, you are right and all you’ve sad is true. So many without a job and who knows how more, we are in big trouble. How can anyone live normal when you wake up in the morning and start to worry about everything. What to eat, where to go to find new job and so on.
