Going back to some journalism real quick…when was the last time a MAJOR television station here in the United States went out – into the wilderness – of Main Street? Think about it…how many times does the public get to see the journalist pounding the pavement, like many do nowadays, to get the public opinion? Aside from a square of public participation in the morning from a major network…how many? Now, sure phone calls from the cube farms can be made to get the polls, but what about honest to goodness interviews?

Look the news is filtered and we all know that there is about a 80/20 split happening. Take your views to determine how much truth or stretched truths you think you get – I reserve the opinion. Ha! I ask questions and pull up the old articles – there is a lot more to be understood. (Case in point…seems like a lot of people are buying gold now. Well, anyone catch the one sentence in the news release Monday about Nevada mining gold again? It was in the article about the Uranium deposits seeping into the groundwater. Neat uh? Thought gold mining had ceased years ago because of the ‘strong greenback’ -?? Anyway, a digression…sorry.)

Years ago, journalists were called on to be a voice and source for the public. A former President did the invocation to journalists, but is not here today to see what has become of the journalism class. While not all journalist fall into the category of suppress the data, ignore the story, and no straight talk – many do. This happens because money talks and most of us are the poor dolts getting news on the go….It is when one stops long enough to say, “hold up! You did NOT say that the last time. What gives?” That is when it is realized (even more) that a lie is being spoken…then repeated – over, and over, and over.

Yikes and Red Flag Warnings!!

Though the progress of the nation is said to be on track – ahem – one journalism arena is found pounding the pavement to get the public interaction. Yes – public interaction – interviews. These are not gossip driven, or fame seeker interviews, but real people on the street interviews. So, who is doing real interviews? The Russian Times – Yes! Holy Shit. Let me say it again..Holy Shit! The journalist, or at least an employee for The Russian Times, is out there asking a question to get a feel for the public. The public! Now, history has suggested that the Russians were KNOWN to have misinformation out the wazoo and/or to do other things for control over the media. What is up with this I wonder? Not sure, but damn if there is not a crew beating the journalist at real interviews…the Main Street kind…
