Ah, families. There are many things that happen during a child’s life when they are growing up… that make lasting impacts. We all experience this, so it’s nothing new to say. For my part of lasting impacts, an aspect of a family member bewildered me for years.

Grandfather

Most families have a member that has served in some war that the United States has fought. Within mine, my grandfather was in the Army and fought in World War II. He was stationed in the Pacific.
Growing up the entire family knew that the best gift to give him for his birthday, holiday, etc. was any book or video tape(s) related to World War II. He was completely obsessed with reviewing that part of history.

I remember asking him why he would read anything he could get his hands on about World War II. The answer was always the same, “something isn’t right.” Heck of a statement to make to a kid that is just going to ask more and more questions. He never did answer the question either. He only smiled slightly and continued on with what he was doing.

Fast Forward to Now

The headline today reads “Japan confirms ‘secret’ U.S. nuclear pacts.”

What a coincidence because (like I do) I click around on the net to find out why that senator made the comment about ’the net should never have come into existence.’ (Something to that effect not long ago.) The basic “what’s out there that I shouldn’t know?” The word “duh” comes to mind since everything is on the net. All one has to do is weed through and accept the parts they want to accept to get more knowledge.

Well, the other day, two maybe four weeks ago, I came across the work of Jim Marrs and Joseph Farrell, which then lead me to another fellow. (Ironically, both of these fellows gave an interview to the same people. Which by the by, thank you.) I got to find out why in the world my grandfather was completely obsessed with World War II.

Short and Sweet

If you haven’t already…make the time to dive into history. Maybe start out with these two fellows to find out what World War II was…is…

I’m not saying much about what I have learned. Why? Even I am having to start from the ground up to rebuild my knowledge/foundation of history during this time.

With that knowledge/foundation, I have been working forward to the now. It’s a relatively small period, sixty years. I mean, what is sixty or so years? Our history is much older…as we all know…so I would say just check it out.

Only you can come to your own conclusions.

Where does inspiration come from? How do these ideas and thoughts pick the right person to compose music, draw tattoos, paint pictures and so much more for others to enjoy?

I think I’m going to stick to the traditional way of thinking for this…I have a developing idea for inspiration.

When a person is inspired it has been because a person came to a point in their life where it was important for them to grow. A person grows because of the things/places/people/situations around them. It is perhaps this person, who may not be artistically inclined with the normal artistic painting qualities, who will find other ways to transform their inspiration.

This winter season is almost over, and every winter since 2007 I have discovered something new about myself. While purging things this winter (because I cannot stand clutter) I came across my old stress relief from work – a coloring book and drawings I have done with just a simple protractor and ruler. While getting ready to pitch out some cardboard I got the bright idea/inspiration to put the pictures on it. But how in the hell was I going to do that? By using what I have around me to make 3-D artwork.

Items Used: Protractor, tracing paper, yarn, paint, cardboard (from a local grocery store), sewing needle, and thumb tack
Results:

The only issue with following the inspiration that a person gets when accomplishing/completing a piece of artwork is – Where are you going to put it? LOL — I would think that is a good problem to have, uh?
