Growing up was an assortment of fun and hard times for me – like everyone. The decisions made for me as a child, shaped the person and opinions I am/have today. Ha! For better, or for worse that is… Anyway…

Once upon a time, I learned how to play the clarinet. I got to learn how to read the sheet music, finger positions for notes, and (best of all) how to listen. I was not the best player of all time, but loved to think I was playing in a big fancy hall for thousands of people. Alas, after middle school/high school, have only picked up the instrument about a dozen times. The appreciation for music though is still alive.

Sometimes when I listen to the classics, I find myself in a “loop.” I admit it! Obsessive compulsive behavior. I know the family would agree with that, especially concerning certain pieces. There are so many favorites on the list – that it is hard to know where to start in sharing. Do you start with songs that contain the oboe and French horn solos? Do you start with kick ass drum-line beats?

The first piece is called “Mars” from “The Planets.” The opening is very soft, so make sure to turn up the volume, before pushing play. (From You Tube User siegenblahblah, Title: Gustave Holst – The Planets – Mars, the Bringer of War)

The piece has been consider many things; however, I like to think of it as an eager child racing towards the unknown without fear. Yes, weird considering the other interpretations of the piece. I hope you enjoy!

A blocked window by shrubs by Rachel Breet Richmond August 2009

A blocked window by shrubs by Rachel Breet Richmond August 2009

Am I alone? I ask myself this question from time-to-time. I look around and realize the answer – “No. I am not alone.” The life I have been given is utterly wonderful. I have everything that is needed and a dog. That was an “I want.”

So, what does my question mean, “am I alone?” I was once asked, “what world do I live in?” The conversation was hinging on the decency of people, the light and moral of people. Meaning that people know the difference between right and wrong, therefore, do not try to “buy into” certain aspects of the worlds many wrongs.

This was an conversation were I knew I would be made to feel like an idiot. I have an uncanny way of believing that people cannot be as horrible as we have been to each other, or get any worse. (As well as dealing in the areas of the environment.) That the actions of the past are recognized, and will not be committed again. That though – each of us is different and place value on things, that the light bulb is going to go off and all of that will change. That there is always hope. Hence the rebuttal, “what world do I live in?”

    Am I alone?

I recognize that money talks volumes around town.
I recognize that what car I drive will determine someone’s immediate evaluation of me. Heck, even my clothes for that matter.
I recognize that press release information changes from 2 to 24. (Anyone else see that?)
I recognize that there are still assassins in the world. Shaping it how others want it for the right price.
I recognize that animals are slaughtered in coves. That the water becomes blood.
I recognize that people are sold into slavery. Human trafficking has never ended.
I recognize that people are abusers, thieves, and backstabbers. Some that never thought they would fall into one of those….

I recognize that in the shaping of the world, what all of us know today, we are all pretty darn messed up. (Ha! I like to think I am normal but I am no more normal than others.) There are many avenues in which all of us can blame someone, or business entities for this – parents need not bare the brunt of all the blame. Yet…I have hope…

With exception to the last entry (maybe the second one, depending on how it is viewed), the site is a great place for me to ask questions. The questions that are asked (they have to be asked), but never get an answer too.

Being a sheep in this world – it is not anyone’s place to know why the horrible actions of the world continue. Think about it. All of the horror of the last 1,000 years just has new names and credos attached to them, with new technology to give it a whirl. Is this all humanity has learned – ever – in our long history?

Am I alone in seeing this? Am I alone in actually caring about my fellow man and environment?

I cannot choose which cause to take up and speak out for the most, because at the end of the day everything is connected. The causes come from another place, then another place, and another – this is a cycle. One issue cannot exist without the other to have taken place or continue to take place…

I feel that with all of the conditioning – no one speaks to anyone, anymore – in a manner other than trying to brow beat, and get others to agree with them. I feel that people have it in them though to overcome said boundaries (of everything) to give this world a shot of being more than globalized, but humanized. Boundaries wiped out and knowing that fear was perpetuated by….name the thing.

I promise that I will get back into more of what I normally write about tomorrow…

While the cycles of greed and corporation still exist, there is the undeniable existences of all citizens living in fear. Why? Because as it appears — little has changed.  If anything, the worse has yet to come…however….one step at a time.

Many individuals live in fear now of being unemployed, homeless and going hungry.  The voices of these individuals are heard in mere travels about town.  The regular person not made or born of wealth – but earned it through hard work – has lost what set that identity he or she created.  The questions surrounding what will identify them now grows by leaps and bounds.  The gap of unaddressed issued, blatantly ignored by even local governments, has consumed him or her into that abyss. The abyss of being looked down on and labeled as a beggar, or worse.  How could it be worse?  Because instead of working together and leading a hand to help each other – we still look the other way. Literally.

Many individuals live in fear of a big government take over – on all levels.  A number of voices come through, and are strongly focused on this right now <ha> on a lot of issues currently.  With so many issues that individuals can flip to and fro on – this is a tough one to tackle.  The bigger picture seems to elude them in some respect. Frankly, it is not meant for the citizens to know, or even have an idea of a picture- till it is too late.

Historically, knowing the bigger picture was apart of what the society was based on, but now – this is not the case.  What are your citizen rights? Do you know them? Did you learn them in school?  Do you know where to begin to look? (or) What are suspending some of those rights? You should know them, even if you did not go into debt for a college education.  Alas, the answer is probably not.  How could it be that answer?  For starters, this site is about self-education, and I had to learn them.  I admit it, dumba** sheep, right here. The bigger picture is far more than what many believe it to be, or could even make a prediction about; although, though there is one that almost has it right on the head.  (Subject to change of course since freewill is a pesky thing that government cannot even control.)

The point boils down to this – no matter what – learn anything and everything to make yourself empowered with knowledge.  Confusion comes from not knowing what the truth or possible truths are – yes – many truths that fit into a puzzle.  To be out of confusion and entrusted with knowledge leads away from fear. Fear is a powerful killer of the body, and of course, to everything around anyone; thus, it must be overcome.

The video below is almost a year old…but it has certain pieces that are worth remembering.  The whistle-blowers have been coming forward in droves – so do not continue to be distracted.  Get out of confusion and start following your guts to the information. Hovering in one area or focusing in on certain appealing entertainment will continue to lay you into fear.

There is always hope — even if getting to it sometimes is a painful realization to the bigger picture and truths.
